Entertainment QotD: Addicted to Gaming
What is the longest consecutive session you've ever played a video game?
When the original Xbox was released I was one of those mad idiots who stood in line outside the shop one the day that it was launched. I paid AUD$749.00 for it from Toys 'R Us (and was greatly reduced in price six weeks later). It was a staggering amount of money for me at the time considering that I didn't have a job at the time. I can't quite remember what I got for that amount of money but I seem to recall that the Xbox came with two controllers, a carry case, a few other things plus, I think, three games. One of them was Halo: Combat Evolved. It completely blew me away. I had played other first-person shooters before but this was on another realm. Fantastic gameplay, awesome mulitplayer options combined with an amazing soundtrack. The graphics were unlike anything seen on a game console at the time. I got half way through the game in the first sitting (which was about eight hours straight maybe?) and finished it off the next day. While I am sure that other gamers have knocked it off in one sitting, It was unheard of for me to do. I have since finished it many times over on harder settings. To this day I still play it and I think will continue to do so until the machine dies.
