Has eBay Lost The Plot?
Has eBay completely lost the plot? From June all Australian users will have to use eBay's online commerce website - PayPal. Direct deposits and money orders will no longer be allowed as forms of payment. You will be forced to use PayPal if you want to pay for an item. The only other method allowed will be cash if you pick the item up in person.
eBay trust and safety director Alastair MacGibbon said that "You're four times less likely to have a problem on eBay if you pay with PayPal than, say, if you used internet banking."
Well that is news to me Alastair. Can you back that up with some hard evidence?
I have been a member of eBay since January 2000 and I have never once had a problem when using direct deposit. I have however had several problems using PayPal.
This decision is nothing short of lunacy and I am sure that it will prove to be the undoing of eBay.

I myself was cheated out of my beloved Nokia N93 for what would have been $600 to my pocket.
I haven't had a problem with PayPal - unless you count the zillion phishing emails!!!!
I would think that having options is good for business.
